Q: How to choose the proper seal material for my filter bags?

A: You may choose seal material according to the chemical compatibility, system operating temperature, and filter bag disposal method.
Chemical compatibility. Filter bag seal rings are generally made of molded plastic, galvanized steel, or stainless steel. The properties of sealing material shall be chemically compatible with the liquid to be filtered.
Operating temperature. If the operating temperature of the system exceeds 190 °F, the molded plastic seal ring may melt or soften due to high temperature, therefore, steel seal rings are recommended in high-temperature working conditions.
Filter bag disposal method. Some waste filter bags are disposed of by incineration, in this case, molded plastic seal rings are recommended.
